About me

Where I Come From
I grew up in New Port Richey, Florida, and went on to earn my B.S. in Political Science at the University of Central Florida before earning my Juris Doctor at the Charlotte School of Law. All through college, I worked in the tire and battery department at Sam’s Club—an experience that taught me how to solve problems under pressure, connect with people from all walks of life, and never shy away from hard work.

What Drives Me
I know that facing legal trouble is one of the hardest things someone can go through. Whether it’s a DWI, a criminal charge, traffic violations, or a small claims matter, it can feel overwhelming. That’s where I come in. I fight for clients by:

  • Being their voice: I make sure your story is heard, clearly and forcefully.

  • Keeping you informed: I break down the process so you understand what’s happening and what your options are.

  • Pursuing the best outcome: I negotiate when it makes sense; I litigate when needed. I aim for reductions, dismissals, license reinstatements—whatever I can do to protect your rights and your future.

  • Standing by your side: From the first call to the last resolution, I’m on your side. I fight for fairness, dignity, and real, practical results.

Experience

Since opening my own firm in 2015, I’ve handled cases across Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Gaston, Union, Rowan and Iredell Counties. I’ve defended people in traffic, DWI, and criminal matters. I’ve represented both plaintiffs and defendants in Small Claims, civil District, and civil Superior Court. These cases aren’t just legal files to me—they carry real consequences: jobs, families, freedom, and peace of mind. I don’t take them lightly.

I’ve also taken on—and won—cases at the appellate level. I successfully defended a client in a family law child support dispute that was appealed to the North Carolina Court of Appeals. In Mendez v. Mendez, 2021-NCCOA-691 (No. COA21-158), four separate issues were raised on appeal—and I prevailed on every one, securing a unanimous published opinion affirming our win. Beyond the Courtroom

I believe in giving back to the legal community and those in need.

  • I teach. I’ve led CLE programs like Traffic Law 101 for the Mecklenburg County Bar and guest lectured to fellow attorneys on best practices for representing victims of domestic violence.

  • I give back. After law school, my first job was with Safe Alliance, where I helped victims of domestic violence obtain protective orders. Before that, while in law school, I interned with the Union County District Attorney’s Office, learning the system and seeing cases from the prosecution’s perspective.

Ava & Teddy

Outside the office, I recharge through hiking with my two German Shepherds, Ava and Teddy. I also enjoy smoking BBQ, woodworking, staying active in the gym, baking, and tinkering with cars. These things ground me so I can bring energy, creativity, and focus to every case I take on.
